Today I wanted to share something with you that has made a slight (yet noticeable) difference in my marriage.
Your master bedroom should be a loving oasis that distracts you from the chaos of everyday life: the kids (not that your kids are chaos, but you get what I mean, lol), work, chores, etc. I mean, it is always nice to have a place to go, that you don’t feel the need to escape from. Right? If you can afford to completely re-do your master bedroom (and it really needs it), then go for it! However, I know that not many people have a lot of extra room in their budgets for that kind of thing.
What I Recommend:
A Gallery Wall
Put up pictures of the two of you that make you smile. For me, that would be pictures from our wedding day or special places we have visited. Having little reminders of our wedding around our room helps to give it a more romantic vibe.
Reusable Wedding Decor
I absolutely love that I saved decor from my wedding day and have it displayed in our room. The letters, pillows, candles, and even the ivy were all used as decor at my wedding. It is a constant reminder of the day we officially began our lives together!
Battery Operated Candles
I had to add this, because they are pretty and extra convenient when you are wanting your room to feel romantic. Amazon sells them for a decent price!!
Keep Your Work in the Office!
Please try not to leave work-related things in your room if you can help it. Especially if being reminded of it stresses you out. You want your room to be the place you can go to relax, not just another room where you are stressing about your “to-do” list. My husband and I rent a room so I don’t really have any other choice but to keep my work in my room. I am constantly thinking about blogging, research, and social media… sometimes I need to remind myself that it is not necessary 24/7. Having a little “me” time or “Anthony” time is much more important.
Try to Declutter!!
Speaking of stress- this is something I struggle with in our tiny bedroom. The less clutter we have in there, the more we feel at ease. I really dislike having things everywhere…like I do now…brb…going to go clean for a while! Just kidding, lol. Seriously though, the difference it makes when your room is clutter free is worth the few hours (or even days) spent decluttering.
